My life's work and passion has always been to make a difference in the lives of kids. I have served in a variety of roles: Principal, Director of Special Education/Student Services, Dean of Students and Director of an Alternative High School as well as in the role of Social Work in the inner-city of Detroit and Montreal, Canada.
Most recently, I have served the State of Iowa as the Bullying/Harassment Consultant. In this role, I took calls from parents, students and schools with bullying/harassment concerns. The Department's role is to ensure that school's have policies and procedures in place to address these safety concerns.
I wanted to do more.
As your Consultant, we can collaborate and design the professional development and consultation package that fits your school's needs during this unique and challenging time in history.
Passionate and Driven are the words Terese's colleagues use to describe her at the Iowa Department of Education. As the Bullying Consultant, she collaborated with multiple partners for the prevention and intervention of the Bullying Dynamic through Tiered Interventions of Support.
My team and I had the pleasure of working with Terese Jurgensen for over two years on a Bully Prevention initiative for the State of Iowa. I was struck by her passion and knowledge related to bullying, bully prevention, and social and emotional supports for youth.
She is a strong advocate for students and has the ability to work with teachers, administrators, parents and community members on critical issues facing our schools. She is very thorough in preparation, has clear understanding of best practices, has an engaging presentation style, and the ability to establish a professional rapport with her collaborators.
Most importantly, Terese is determined to make a positive impact on the lives of school-aged youth
